This peacock has been around a while. He comes from a color lithograph in an 1873 French school book, where kids once learned their birds from pages just like this one. We loved the jewel-toned neck, the copper wing feathers and that long, golden tail full of little blue eyes, so we gave him a new home in the kitchen. Use it for slicing and serving, set out cheese and crackers, or lean it against the backsplash and let it be the prettiest thing on the counter.
